WHAT IS DIPA?
The double IPA or Imperial IPA is an American invention as brewers sought to increase both alcoholic strength and hop intensity of a typical IPA. By ramping up the hop character, the malt character is also increased to act as a counter balance producing a dry malt base for the explosive hop aromatics. Typically starting at an alcohol content of 8% ABV, they are the ultimate beers for true hop lovers.
